Left With Pictures // River Avon // Organ Grinder Records // Out Now
‘River Avon’ isn’t a cheesy pop, instant radio hit that will be stuck in your head throughout the day and possibly for ever more. It’s something much more clever, subtle and warm.

The lack of chorus in the song (apart from those used on the vocal production) means the lyrics flow and the story unfolds. Frankly, it took me several listens to piece together the story but was certainly worth the time. Musically the song is lacking but on reflection, why does it need it? It’s all about the story, the lyrics and the pictures they paint. That’s not to say that the music created by these classically trained musicians is shabby and ill directed, far from it, however it isn’t the centrepiece of the song.
I have to agree with the description written on their Soundcloud for this song in saying how everyone would stop to listen to the song in a kind of hypnotic way. I know I would and I can imagine the crowd would too when played live.
