Texture Like Sun // Bottle // Out Now // Blank Tape

The more times I play this song, the warmer I feel inside.

This is an absolute joy to watch. It genuinely makes watching 4 videos at once seem obvious not strenuous, as each part bursts into the song, each video element slips into focus, it’s seamless. It really, really works.

This is a top notch piece. It is damn near impossible to translate all of the lyrics but it’s so soothing and rhythmic, perhaps down-tempo folk is appropriate. The deep bass kicks in really hard but somehow seeps into the background, along with the guitar. I can’t help but notice that each instrument ripples in and out and it’s just magnificent. They have an impeccable ability to draw your attention from one instrument to the next, keeping you really focused on the track. Very innovative. And this song is exactly 4 minutes on the dot. It is special and quite frankly I can’t stop playing it, over and over again. If the rest of the album is anywhere nearly as good as this track, Bottle… Texture Like Sun are going to start off massive.

I don’t know if you’ve heard of Sam Beeton, or for that matter Burberry Acoustic, both of which I would highly recommend you look into if you like acoustic music – but this is one hell of a record – performed live and filmed last winter. It really is a corker. I just feel like the two tracks have a bond. They sit snugly together in my up and coming winter playlist. I’m not going to lie, it consists of these two songs, and these two songs alone right now but I’ll be sure to put it on the NEN Spotify, which you should totally check out.
