Friends Electric // Fireworks // 20.06.11 // The Blue Team

Coming to an Indie disco near you…

Friends Electric are probably the best thing to come out of the Welsh mining town of Neath since Katherine Jenkins’ cleavage, and if you find it hard to believe that any song could be as pleasing to the senses as the aforementioned Welsh National Treasure, then one listen to this stonking tune will definitely put your mind at rest.

Kind of like an optimistic Hurts, this song screams “80’s” louder than New Order being beaten to death with a DX7. Starting off with ‘that’ dance beat that never fails to get your head bopping, and following through with a floor – filling chorus that has an uplifting melody and loads of great warm, synth sounds, this song is definitely doing justice to its influences.

I can see this song doing very well, and as these guys have got a load of live dates planned for the summer that include a spot at the Isle of Wight Festival, you should be sure to try and catch them live before they’re so big you have to sell your limbs on the black market to see them.
