3… 2… 1… kerBOOMTOWN FAIR!

Submitted by on March 24, 2011 – 1:28 pmNo Comment

“Sunshine skanking”? “Mind blowing bass”? Yes please!

Set in a secret location less than an hour from London, Boomtown Fair is a twisting, turning, sprawling metropolis filled to the brim with some of the most stomping, hysteria-inducing acts this side of that dream you once had where all your favourite acts were playing in your back garden. This year they’ve truly surpassed themselves with a ludicrously eclectic lineup, with something for literally everyone. Except for boring people who don’t like music. Who, in all fairness, should probably go elsewhere.

Confirmed acts for this year include the mighty kings of live electro swing Caravan Palace, barmy gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, broader-than-Broadway reggae legend Barrington Levy and German spicy blender [dunkelbunt]. You can also catch more ska, reggae and dub than you can shake a red, yellow and green novelty hat at, a fairly major wedge of rinsing dancefloor whomp and a liberal scattering of random bits and pieces to fill in any blanks (of which there are none, so you’ll probably be busy). Babyhead, Foreign Beggars, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Goldie Lookin’ Chain, The Toasters, The Apples, Feed Me, Top Cat, Kenny Ken and more will be setting their various stages on fire, amongst a plethora of art, circus business, silly hats and other treats.

The festival opens on Thursday the 11th of August and runs until Sunday the 14th. Tickets cost £93 and are selling fast, so grab ‘em while you can. Check the website at http://www.boomtownfair.co.uk/ for further information.

Come and have a go if ya think yer fun enough!
