Every day in December, we are bringing you a special musical treat everyday! So do check back to see what else we have in store tomorrow!

Today we bring you a free download of Poly Styrene’s Black Christmas

X-Ray Spex were one of the most iconic bands of the 70s even though they only bore five singles and one album.

Amazingly unforgettable frontwoman Poly Styrene has been working with producer Martin Glover AKA Youth from Killing Joke on an upcoming solo album set for release in March 2011, to be titled Generation Indigo.

Sign-up to Poly Styrene’s mailing list to get a free download of Black Christmas! Black Christmas features, and was written in collaboration with Poly’s daughter, Celeste and was inspired by the Killing spree in Los Angeles instigated by a man dressed as Santa Claus.

“Poly Styrene… so ahead of her time. She recreated punk. X-ray Spex, a band that shaped my identity.”  Beth Ditto (The Gossip)
