Christmas Jumpers // You Know You Want One!!
Christmas Jumpers come in many different shapes and sizes. There are the ones, which have been knitted by your grandmother or one of her friends and there are those that are from the high street with geometric shapes on them.
There is a common idea that Christmas jumpers are embarrassing and tacky. In Bridget Jones’s Diary Colin Firth wears one, which is then used in argument against his personality. Then there are the handmade gifts, which the Weasley brothers receive for Christmas each year in the Harry Potter films. They are always embarrassed to wear them and this gives the impression that handmade knitted gifts are not always welcome.
However in recent years they have become a bit of a season must-have. I guess since the ‘indie’ sub-culture moved in and people have started to like a bit of ‘geek-chic’ the geometric shapes are ‘in’. Film and TV have played their part in making these jumpers a hit. Around 5 years ago hit teen drama The OC had a character, Seth, who wore many a Christmas jumper.
Today every highstreet shop will be selling these geometric Christmas jumpers. In these weather conditions I think we should all be wearing at least one.
Here are my top 5 jumpers for both men and women!
