English Heritage
To wear or not to even attempt at wearing? That is the question.
The English Heritage trend will be in every high street store over the next couple of months. Items will include capes, jodhpurs, leather riding boots and the materials will include tweed, wool and lots of sheepskin.
I don’t know where I stand with this style. I do love the look though. It reminds me of ‘To The Manor Born’ an old programme with Penelope Keith. It’s very upper class farmer I guess.
Being from the countryside myself I am aware of its practicality. However farmers and farmess’s (better then farmer’s wives, which has it’s own image stereotype) are not really bothered about what they look like whilst trekking through the mud, all they need is to be covered and warm.
I think people walking around a city may look a bit out of place in a head to toe English Heritage, however I suppose nobody does that with every trend out there do they? I’m warming to the idea of popping at least one piece every now and then. I mean this autumn winter is going to be a miserable one, as usual, and feeling as snug as a bug in a rug will definitely help us get through it a lot easier.
Whilst trudging around on the web I found these items, which fit the theme!
These riding boots and are £35 from boohoo.co.uk. I looove the colour and the height of them and for £35…that’s a bargain!!
These Ruffle Back Tapered Trousers are £38 from Topshop. I am liking the terracotta colour and the cut of them, they’d smarten up any outfit i think, however they look great in a picture they might look a bit different on! I was watching an episode of Friends the other day and Rachel was wearing some terracotta colour cord trousers with a simple black top, which I thought looked awesome (however that might be because she can make most things look good!).
This beautiful sweater below is from Next and is £40. It’s in their new advert under the aviator jacket. It’s looks pretty and warm, which is an unbeatable combination for these months.
Next is this tweed coat from ASOS (it’s only £80) the tweeds not too ‘in your face’ and I think the cut of it is awesome. With some skinny jeans and big ol’ boots it’d look good.
Finally something which I’m definately doing to invest in, especially for those cold evening’s where I’m waiting for the bus to go home are these lovely, warm, cosy mittens from ASOS at £36, I know they’re pricey but think of the many winters they’d last and how warm your fingers would be!!!!
So after all of that that I’m thinking we should definately attempt this trend. Maybe not in head to toe formation, however if you’re planning a weekend away in the country and plan to go shooting then I dare you to try it and see what happens!!
