Submitted by on July 20, 2010 – 12:20 pmOne Comment

Sooo, the Mercury Prize albums of 2010 have announced…

.

The Barclaycard Mercury Prize celebrates the year in music. The shortlist, chosen from an entry of over 200 albums by UK and Irish artists, was announced by Lauren Laverne. Without further ado..

Biffy Clyro – Only Revolutions

Corinne Bailey Rae - The Sea

Dizzee Rascal - Tongue N’ Cheek

Foals – Total Life Forever

I Am Kloot – Sky At Night

Kit Downes – Trio Golden

Laura Marling I Speak Because I Can

Mumford & Sons – Sigh No More

Paul Weller – Wake Up the Nation

The xx xx

Villagers - Becoming a Jackal

Wild Beasts – Two Dancers

Some I’m surprised at, some I am not. I think that Wild Beasts’ ‘Two Dancers’ is the most deserving. What a beautiful work of art it is. As for Biffy Clyro, damned sellouts.

Check out some Wild Beasts videos here:

We could write a load of pretentious crap about each album but we’re not going to. Comment with your Facebook profile below, let us know what YOU think.
