THE HIGH WIRE // THE MIDNIGHT BELL // 01.03.10 // GRANDPA STAN

Submitted by on February 6, 2010 – 12:21 pmNo Comment

Continuing 2010′s psych-pop journey, The High Wire are on hand to lend the perfect musical accompaniment to the rising temperatures and sites of colour splashing the grey canvas of the UK with their gorgeous new single ‘The Midnight Bell’.

The tail end of last year proved that spending the vast majority of 2009 holed up in a darkened studio was well worth it, as the band emerged from hiding with previous single ‘Odds & Evens’ (“the perfect summer single” – The Sunday Times Culture) .

Tim Crompton (lead vocals, guitar), Stuart Peck (guitar, vocals) and Alexia Hagen’s (keys, vocals) unique brand of luscious “ecstasy pop” is a blend of acoustic melodies and chanted vocal harmonies. Their beautifully-crafted musical dreamscapes have been flatteringly compared to the genius of likes of My Bloody Valentine and Mercury Rev.

The High Wire’s debut album ‘The Sleep Tape’ is released March 8th on Grandpa Stan.
