South By, NEN Album Launch, Six Stages Over Texas…

Submitted by on February 15, 2010 – 12:40 pmNo Comment

Hello my lovvies!

After a brief hiatus, the blog is back.

We also have a new blogger starting soon which is quite nice. So there’ll be lots more updates as well as articles!

Lots of things in the pipeline at NEN Towers, we launched an album the other day which was a first – all profits to The Institute of Cancer Research, and all tracks are donated by artists attending the festival – how exciting is that?! Isn’t our cover beautiful? Thanks to Richard Miles for the design). You can buy it here FOR A FIVER!

Now, we’re getting ready for South By Southwest in Austin, Texas, and also the Six Stages Over Texas festival. Flights booked. Hotel booked. Passports in safe place, check. Detox, due to start. Anticipation for nicer weather and Ben Kweller – covered!

We also had our Charity Soundclash which was well-attended and plenty of fun, and is set to develop into a monthly night at The Stinging Nettle in Shepherds Bush very soon.

This week, I saw The Miserable Rich, Lisa Mitchell and The Wave Pictures at The Borderline. And am getting excited by all the festival announcements that are creeping their way into my inbox. AND I’m about to continue work on my engagement party playlist – a self-respecting music website editor has to have a cracking set of tracks dontcha know!

See this! See this! Another discovery this week is the wonderful creativity of Anika Mottershaw. Check out her cute cute cute day-brightening video for All You Need by Maria Byrne:

Now, a question for you – who is better?
Delphic or Friendly Fires?

This post was brought to you by Miike Snow, Ellie Goulding, We Have Band (OH!), Alessi’s Ark’s EP announcement, and Run Toto Run. But most certainly not by Frankmusik.

I promise I’ll write more!
