Announcing a regular feature by keen music hunter JH!

falls in love with

Who:
Girl In A Thunderbolt

What:
Solo project of Norwich’s Maria Uzor. Following previous involvement in punk creation ‘The Incidentals’ took up her guitar and became fully charged as Girl In A Thunderbolt. If her MySpace is to be believed she comes from space and has a spaceship – hey, it may be true. Two EP’s – ‘Songs For Modern Lovers’ and ‘Volatile’ both 2009 sees her working closely with Norwegian producer HP Gundersen (Rushmore, Blister, PogoPops).

Her agitated vocals and loops of guitar and drums under stories of tough love earned her appreciation from Tom Robinson (BBC) and The Fly to name two.

She Says:
“Do You Think I’m Ain’t Satisfied?” (from ‘Volatile’ – Track 3 ‘Songs For Modern Lovers’ EP)

Where:
She lives here…
