Pitchfork Music Festival Paris, on 31st October, 1st & 2nd November 2013 will be held in the French capital’s Grande Halle de la Villette. Early bird tickets (€99.90 for a 3 day pass – approx £85 )are already on sale with the first acts for the festival revealed The Knife, Hot Chip, Deerhunter, Warpaint, The Haxan Cloak and Junip.
Entering into its third year, the highly revered and critically acclaimed live music festival will be returning to the very same venue as it has in the past.
Swedish duo The Knife unveiled Shaking The Habitual, their first studio album since Silent Shout in April this year. Known for their highly conceptual live shows, the siblings gained a cult following over the past decade and have received notable acclaim for their work.
Hot Chip remain a firm favourite for many UK music fans, representing the cream of leftfield British pop music. In Our Heads was released in 2011 – singles Flute, How Do You Do and Don’t Deny Your Heart quickly became firm fixtures on our airwaves throughout the year.
Smaller acts on the bill so far include London based producer The Haxan Cloak who makes occult ambient music – his self-titled debut was, according to FACT magazine ‘one of the best albums of 2011’. José González’s band Junip (made up of him and two others) will bring some psychedelic folk to the weekend. Four-piece Warpaint (who gained a strong UK following after releasing The Fool, their 2010 album) are guaranteed to perform a fantastic set.
As with 2012, the festival will span across 3 days and will make full use of the Grande Halle de la Villette’s multifunctional spaces. The unique building lies within the Parc de la Villette in the 19th Arrondissement of Pari. The venue used to be an abattoir and retains a vast sense of space.
Tickets will increase to €129.90 once early birds are sold out. Get them at www.pitchforkmusicfestival.fr
