‘Oceans’ is one made for the cool breeze of summer striking a similar chord to the music of Friendly Fires, who aim for that big feel-good sound. They’re chosen their band name well.

Coasts also feel as if they’re taking the baton on from ex-Tonight Is Goodbye band, Futures, who split up last year. This is due to the warmth created in the bouncy drums complimenting the delicate riff and words belonging to the captivating tale of a summer romance, “We fell in Love, right by the Ocean, Made all our plans down on the sand.” Similar pondering lyrics find themselves in the track such as, “We live in a fractured world” and erm again “we live in a lonely world.”

This is the second release from the Bristol five-piece and if this and ‘Stay’ are anything to go by Coasts, who are heading out on tour to coincide with the single release, have definitely established a nice sound to be able to build on over 2013 and beyond.
