North London quartet Wolf Alice are back with their new single ‘Fluffy’, which has already received positive responses from the likes of NME, The Fly and Huw Stephens.

Fronted by Ellie Roswell the band’s new single shows a change in direction from their first single ‘Leaving You’, hinting that the folk genre they appeared to belong to before is long gone.

Starting off sounding like a Pixies track, the grunge-tinged instrumental is joined by Ellie’s dulcet vocals as she breathes through the first verse until it culminates in an explosion of drums and guitars for the chorus.

Despite the 90s feel to it, there is a certain originality with ‘Fluffy’ that the new indie bands starting out should envy.

I personally love ‘Fluffy’, it has everything you want in a good guitar-pop track and it is easy to see why Wolf Alice have became so popular in the recent months and gained a larger fan base. Hoping for more like this from them soon.
