Woah, it’s been quite a while since the festival season proper closed down for the winter (besides of course ATP and the like). It’s January, it’s cold, it’s in fact bloody freezing but we have something to brighten your day: we bring good tidings of festival news for 2013!

“I love this moment: the first headliner, the first announcements, as they take us into the next festival year, the more so when we make dreams of so many festival fans come true, and rise to their expectations with the first artist we announce. Ladies and Gentlemen, BLUR are the first Heineken Open’er 2013 headliner!” – says Mikołaj Ziółkowski (Alter Art)

Open’er joins Primavera Sound and Rock Werchter in sharing headliner Blur! Their live shows, albeit rare over the last few years, always get the best reviews both from fans and journalists, and their steady top position among global alternative rock stars make them stir interest even without a new album. With seven records released and over a dozen hit singles to their credit, they have enough material to play a legendary concert at Open’er.

Also announced are the awesome Queens Of The Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys and Kings of Leon – more soon!
