BLOG // The Return Of Bloc Party
Strange to think that it's eight years since Bloc Party first appeared on the radar. At the time they were at the forefront of a new wave of post-punk, and were shortly vying with Franz Ferdinand to win the hearts and minds of indie kids and far, far beyond.
The release of the single 'Flux' in late 2007 suggested that they had reached a new height, yet the following year, their third album 'Intimacy' appeared to be a disappointment after the high of their first two albums, 'Silent Alarm' and 'A Weekend In The City'.
But a break from the band-and quite possibly each other- to work on solo projects, pick a fight with Oasis and get some headspace seems to have re-energised the band. Last week saw them debut their new single 'Octopus,' the first to be taken from their fourth album, entitled, erm, 'Four'.
This is available to download now, and a limited 7" single will be available from August 13th.
