29th – 31st July 2011
Lowther Deer Park, Hackthorpe, Lake District
Tickets for Kendal Calling have been snapped up in record time as new acts are announced across the ‘Glastonbury of the North’.
As organisers unfurled the ‘sold out’ banners in Lowther Deer Park, The Stranglers legend Hugh Cornwall was dusting off his vocal chords for the second leg of his summer festival tour – expect hits such as Golden Brown, Peaches and No More Heroes to be unleashed onto a buoyant Cumbrian public made up of all shapes and sizes.
Cockney charm will be supplemented by a touch of cross-Atlantic glamour as L.A.’s Vintage Trouble bring their unique blend of rock, soul and blues to the scene.
Over in the Glow Tent, bass heavy force Krafty Kuts have been added to a bill already boasting world class DJ talent. Furthermore, daddies of dubstep Caspa and Breakage, plus more masters of the decks, are set to keep the Kendal crowd partying hard till the wee small hours.
Ben Robinson, director of Kendal Calling says: “It’s a huge compliment to all those involved that so many of you have got your tickets so early and are warming up for a weekend of country style fun & frolics.
“We still have more acts and all the attractions apart from the music to announce before we see you in the fields too.”
